Q. What is myGOLDmyCASH?
A. myGOLDmyCASH is a recycling program for your unwanted gold jewelry. We pay you for the gold in your items, then melt them down and refine them.
Q. How much experience do you have doing this?
A. The owners and expert jewelry appraisers at myGOLDmyCASH have over 50 years experience in buying jewelry and online commerce.
Q. How will I know my items will be safe?
A. myGOLDmyCASH uses state of the art technology to track every Refiner’s Return Pack that we receive in our processing facility. You can track the status of your pack at any time by using our Track Your Pack.

My Gold Value

Q. How do you determine how much to pay for gold?
A. Payment is based on the purity of the gold (karat), weight, and the price of gold.
Q. How does the appraisal value of my jewelry relate to how much I will get from myGOLDmyCASH?
A. For insurance purposes, jewelry is appraised based on its retail replacement cost. Since MyGOLDmyCASH melts down and refines your gold, appraised values have little relation to the amount of our payments.
Q. How does myGOLDmyCASH determine the purity of gold?
A. Our goal is to accurately determine the gold purity of each piece of jewelry you send us so that we can pay you the most for it. Our expert jewelry appraiser will use a variety of methods such as acid/scratch testing to determine the gold content of your jewelry.
Q. Are stamps on my jewelry like "10K" and "14K" reliable?
A. These stamps are supposed to be imprinted by the manufacturer based on the purity of the jewelry, and they usually are reliable – especially if you bought your gold from a reputable jeweler. However, occasionally we do receive jewelry that is fraudulently stamped. We independently test your gold for purity so that we can make payments based on the most accurate information.

Payment and Returns

Q. When will I receive my payment?
A. It should take 10-14 days from when you mail in your pack to when you receive your check. This includes the time it a takes for your pack to arrive in our processing facility, our speedy analysis of your gold, and the time it takes for our check to reach you.
Q. What if I am not satisfied with my payment?
A. Please contact us by email or phone within 10 days from the date on your check. If you contact us within this timeframe, we will place a hold on your material (so it won’t be melted down) and will provide instructions on how to return the check. Once your check has been received, we will return your material to you.
Q. Do you charge to return my material?
No, we will return your material free of charge, no questions asked.

Q. What is your 110% Best Price Guarantee?
A. We are so confident that we pay the most for your jewelry compared to our competitors that we back that pledge with our 110% Best Price Guarantee – we will pay you 110% of the difference between the amount offered by any of our national competitors, up to $100!
Q. How do I apply for the 110% Best Price Guarantee?
A. It’s simple: Forward us the written quote for your items from any of our national competitors. The quote must be on their letterhead and contain a detailed description of your items for verification purposes.

My Express Cash

Q. What is My Express Cash?
A. Once we determine the weight and purity of your material, we will make payment by check. If you choose My Express Cash, we will direct deposit your payment into your bank account as soon as your material has been processed.
Q. How much does My Express Cash cost?
A. Unlike some of our competitors who charge up to $5 to direct deposit your payment, using our My Express Cash service is FREE!
Q. Why do you offer My Express Cash for no additional charge?
A. We believe that direct depositing funds is a win for both you and myGOLDmyCASH. You will get your payment faster and we can refine your gold more quickly; this reduces our exposure to changes in the price of gold. It also saves paper and your gas to drive the check to the bank, so it is also better for the environment!
Q. Is there a minimum payment required to use My Express Cash?
A. Yes, your payment must be at least $10. If it is not, we will mail you a check instead.
Q. If I use My Express Cash and am not happy with the payment amount, can you return my items?
A. No. By selecting the My Express Cash payment method, you agree to waive the 10-day return policy. Your items will be melted and refined on an expedited schedule.

Mailing

Q. How much does the Refiner’s Return Pack cost?
A. The Refiner’s Return Pack is absolutely FREE.
Q. When will I receive my Refiner’s Return Pack?
A. Refiner’s Return Packs go out the same or next business day, depending on what time your request is received. The packs are sent out by USPS First Class Mail and most customers receive their packs in 3 days.
Q. How much does shipping and insurance cost?
A. Shipping and insurance is prepaid up to $100. If you believe your items are worth more than $100, we encourage you to pay for postal insurance at a US Post Office. We believe the safest way to send high value items is by USPS Registered Mail.
Q. Is your packaging secure?
A. The outer envelope of our return envelope is made of DuPont Tyvek™ material which is extremely strong and, along with the inner Refiner’s Return Pack, is suitable for the vast majority of scrap gold. For fine jewelry and high value items, you may wish to use your own packaging (see below).
Q. Do you accept gold through courier services such as FedEx, DHL, and UPS?
A. Not at this time. We believe that the USPS provides the best value, convenience, and security for sending your gold jewelry to us. We encourage you to use our Refiner’s Return Pack and to buy additional insurance at a US Post Office if the value of your item is greater than $100.
Q. I have fine jewelry or high value items and would like use my own packaging. Can I do this?
A. Yes! However, please request a Refiner’s Return Pack so that you can receive our Payment Information Card with your tracking number and include this card in your package so that your jewelry can be properly tracked.
Q. I don’t want to wait for a Refiner’s Return Pack and tracking number. Can I send my jewelry now in my own packaging?
A. Yes. Please email us at info@mygoldmycash.com and we’ll provide you with a tracking number and all the details.

Diamonds and Gemstones

Q. Do you buy diamonds?
A. Yes, our payments include the value of all diamonds. However, very small diamonds may yield small payments because they are hard for us (or anyone) to resell.
Q. If my diamond has an appraisal or certificate, should I included it?
A. Yes, please do. GIA or EGL certificates are especially useful; please include them in your Refiner’s Return Pack.
Q. Do you pay for other gemstones besides diamonds?
A. No. Most other gemstones that we find in scrap jewelry have little resale value.
Q. Should I remove my other gemstones before placing the gold in the Refiner’s Return Pack?
A. It’s up to you. You are welcome to remove them before sending your gold to us; removing them or not removing them will not affect the amount of your payment.
